What to say on Sunday

Just completed my talk on Self Identity for tonight and now have to think about Sunday's sermon. Repentance sounds boring, but it's my theme. I want to explore the positive side of what has become a bit of a dirty word; how reflection on your weaknesses and failures can help build up a positive self-esteem if handled rightly. I keep hearing about the psychological damage old fashioned Prayer Book confessions can do to you. You know, 'there is no health in us' or, of our sins, 'the burden of them is intolerable', or, in the so-called Prayer of Humble Access, 'we are not worthy ſo much as to gather up the crumbs under thy table.' Did a previous age just get it wrong? Or has a more permissive age simply swept the religious moral challenge under the carpet?
